Welcome To Motherhood.Squared!

Thank you for joining me at Motherhood.Squared! Even though there is still work to be done here (like the wonky sized photos in Reviews), I figured if I waited until I felt like the site was ready, it never would be. So here I am. Whether you've joined from my former blog, or from a browser search on "poop", there are several deliberate changes which I'd like to highlighted below:

DARKROOM: Sometimes I want to be able to see photos nearly full-screen, like a big 'ol exclamation point to whatever moment it was captured in time. At least that's what I like. So as events-best-told-through-a-picture unfold, I will give a small screenshot of the photo that, upon, clicking, will lead you to the larger photo within the Darkroom gallery.

I call it a darkroom for two reasons (1) in a few instances, I did not take the pictures myself and I felt that the word "Photography" implied that I was the eye behind the lens. In the cases where I didn't shoot the photo, I have given credit to the photographer. (2) a darkroom, by definition, is where photographic materials are processed. For me, looking at these photos garners strong memories and emotions of the event, the smells, the sounds where they were taken, and the experience comes alive once again.

REVIEWS: I've made a tab specifically for Reviews (formerly "RaJen Reviews") so they're easier to find. From time to time, I review a product or service that we just love for various reasons. Under Reviews, I give a photo and summary with a link to the expanded review should the reader be interested in additional commentary. I don't get paid or sponsored by the manufacturers of these products, so rest assured the review is genuine.

ARCHIVES - I've made an archives page in an attempt to make it easier to find something specific. One can search by open text, chronologically, or by Tags and Categories. Still work to be done on Tag and Category consolidation.

IVF STATS - I've tried to organize this page a little better for those interested in taking a walk through the process I went through. One day I'll add in the first year of the trying-to-conceive process which included something like nine IUIs, one surgery, thousands of dollars, and depression.

CONTACT ME - I've included a fill-form for contacting me. I often receive questions and comments and this is the best place to organize it.

ADS - While I do not receive compensation for the Reviews, I AM running a few ads in the hopes that I can make enough to cover the annual cost of maintaining this website. At least that was my justification to Jennifer for doing the website instead of buying diapers. So if you ever buy a product online from any advertised stores, use my links as your portal!

A special thanks to those who were my test viewers along the road of redesign, and especially to Jenna Dee, the web designer who has translated my vague descriptions and odd sketches into code that results in what you see here. Comments and content suggestions welcome.

The new title, and former subtitle, makes me think.

(Motherhood)^2.

Hmm?

Which is, of course, an entirely different concept to motherhood doubled, especially when we're talking about the enigmatic number one, which when squared, is also one.

It's at this point in my thinking that I usually get confused, and move on, but this time, I'm brainstorming as I type: maybe motherhood, in this case, is closer to 1.4 than 1.
