Spaghetti Boycott

The boy is not a fan of picking up wet food. He will pick up cheerios and breadsticks and crackers all day long. But do not ask him to touch mandarin oranges or cantelope or spaghetti. If it's wet, you damn well better be giving it to him on a spoon. I could go on and on about how the fact that he whines and complains and expects to be fed by hand totally typifies a GUY, but instead I'll leave you with this photo and accompanying text message I received on my blackberry, sent by our nanny:

"Mateo hates the whole idea of string spaghetti. He took all the strings out and only ate a few pieces of meat. I wil be sure 2 let him know it was al ur idea."

Don't you just love it when they show their independence! Have you tried either sauceless noodles and/or cutting it all up and giving him a spoon?

Hi Rosie, this was the first time they had full-on noodles. Usually, I make a star pastini or O's, something small that can be feed by spoon, with and without sauces/meats. We did noodles because i wanted to see how they'd do eating by hand. And the result was post-worthy :)
