NO.

WHAT KIND OF CAMERA AND LENS DO YOU USE? 

I shoot with a Digital SLR Nikon D80. For tight close-ups or portraits, I use a Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras. My everyday lens used to be a AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF lens until my son did this to it. We had a talk about it and I'm not sure if he was intending to appear above suspicion or apologetic because the blood was throbbing in my head from being wrapped so tightly around his finger. Now I shoot with a AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED . By the way, I think the flashes that come with cameras are generally crap, all that unevenness and shadows. When natural light isn’t sufficient, I use a Nikon SpeedLight SB-600 .

WHY DO YOU SINGLE OUT THE IVF STAT PAGE THIS LONG AFTER YOU'VE HAD KID(S)?

I created the page for two reasons: Throughout the IVF cycle, I scoured and searched for comparative statistics, anything to give me hope that medical intervention and my body’s response to it would result in a pregnancy. I found very little, in fact. So I figured the least I could do was publish my statistics and process experience so that others could obsessively compare them to their own in the way that I so desired during that time. Apparently, this has been beneficial, because despite the clever things I say and fabulous pictures I take, the IVF page is the most trafficked page on this site.

WHAT IS YOUR "PARENTING STYLE"?

We are more Free Range than Helicopter, more Authoritative than Authoritarian. We follow a Routine more than a Schedule. We Protect Their Sleep fiercely. On their plates you're as likely to find organic fruits and vegetables as you are frozen fish sticks and ketchup. We also let them drink water from the water hose, and think falling down is a part of growing up. We vaccinate on schedule.

We're adamant about raising our kids to be independent. Independent beings that know we'll always be there for them. We think kids learn better by doing, and that when everything is done for them, self-confidence, self-respect, and intellect suffer. We intend to give them everything that they need, and some of what they want (unless I want it, too).

We believe that nourishing their spiritual beings is just as important as their physical ones.

We do not believe in basing our parenting decisions on worst-case scenarios.
